Literature Text

One step forward,
Or is it to the side?
So hard to tell,
Direction at night,
Scenery changes,
I never do,
I’ll keep my apology,
From you.

One more drink,
Or is it two?
So hard to tell,
This late at night,
Room spinning,
Kick off my shoes,
I’ll keep my apology,
From you.

If I had a dollar,
For every bridge I’ve burned,
I would still be destitute,
See, I’d pin them to the walls,
To remind me of what I learned.

One word extra,
Or was it too many?
So hard to tell,
This late at night,
You seem angry,
At my actions,
I’ll keep my apology,
From you.

One harsh morning,
Or was it like the rest?
So hard to tell,
This late in life,
I’ll be alone,
But no more lonely,
I’ll keep my apology,
From you.

If I had dollar,
For every bridge I’ve burned,
I would still be destitute,
See, I’d pin them to the walls,
To remind me of what I learned.

One line of misery,
Or is it making amends?
So hard to tell,
When you won’t look at me,
I don’t mind,
I cannot forgive,
I’ll keep my apology,
From you.

One last thought,
Or is it a first?
So hard to tell,
This late in the day,
I’ve said goodbye,
Too many times,
I’ll keep my apology,
From you.

If I had dollar,
For every bridge I’ve burned,
I would still be destitute,
See, I’d pin them to the walls,
To remind me of what I learned.
Blah blah blah
